As we close 2018 I’d like to say a big “THANK YOU” to all of our loyal cus-tomers, without you we wouldn’t be in business. We feel like so many of you have become more than customers. We’ve enjoyed hearing the stories of your life, seeing the pictures of your ponds and back yards, grandchildren and pets. Here’s hoping 2019 is a great year for you full of happiness, love and light. Sometimes that’s a choice and when given the opportunity, I choose happy.

It’s almost time for the first show of the year, The Oklahoma City Home & Garden Show at the State Fairgrounds on January 19-20. We’ll be there again this year, come and see us. We see a lot of our current customers and meet some of our future customers there. Then it’s on to the Water Garden Expo here in Shawnee in February when many of our wholesale customers will converge on us for three days of training, networking and fellowship. I wish I could invite all of you but it’s for professionals only. I’ll also be doing the March shows in Tulsa and back in OKC later this spring. More about those later.

This is the time of year when you should call to be sure we’re here before driving over. If the weather is bad, we might not be able to make it in. Remember, just because it’s not icey where you are, doesn’t mean it isn’t here.

All of us at the Pond Pro Shop, wish all of you a very Happy New Year. May your ponds be clear and your fish healthy. Let’s have fun this year.

TIPS and TRICKS

Even though it’s cold outside, water will still evaporates due to the wind and humidity. We keep a garden hose inside during the winter so when we have to add water to a pond or water feature, it’s not frozen solid outside in a coil. Be sure to drain the hose after you use it, replace it inside and re-winterize your faucet.

Classes SPRING/SUMMER 2019 SCHEDULE

Check the schedule for start times. All classes are free and open to the public. No advance registration required. More classes added each month. One Pond Dollar awarded for each class. Attendees receive a 10% discount on all purchases that day. We train rain or shine in the only indoor pond training facility in the U.S.

Spring Startup
For those of you with a pond, are you aware of what needs to happen in the Spring to get it ready for the season? If not, come to class. Many of you may have moved into a home with a pond in the yard and feel a little lost. This is a common occurrence and one we’ve dealt with on a number of occasions. Take pictures of the equipment and the pond, make note of any chemicals you’ve inherited and come talk to us. We’ll be able to answer questions and help you figure out treatment protocols based on your pond situation.

There is no advanced registration required and we do not charge for our classes. We will have 12 classes each year, 4 pond builds, 4 pondless waterfall classes and 4 that are general in nature and cover everything from startup to shut down, plants fish and algae, your worst enemy, next to a blue heron.
